Gerald Patrick Monks (Pat) is a past president and one of the original founders of the Municipal Justice Bar Association of Texas. He has served on the board since the beginning, and participates on the legislative committee testifying in Austin before the State Criminal and transportation committees on a regular basis. He also served as a board members and past president for the Group Legal Services Association (formerly the American Prepaid Legal Institute) which is a part of the American Bar Association. He has been invited to speak in Brussels, Belgium in October to speak to the International Legal Expense Insurers congress for 2016. He is currently attending the RIAD congress in Berlin. He is the guest speaker for Class Action redress for the EU.
Pat is a native Houstonian. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1981 and South Texas College of law in 1984. Pat is active in politics and has served 14 years at a Republican precinct chair for precinct 718 of Harris County, Texas. Pat’s passion is to end the Death Penalty. For the past 6 years he has served on the board of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. And he was recently seen on ITN Channel 4 British news on the recent U.S. Supreme court ruling about the Oklahoma death drug. Pat is very active throughout the country and attends CPAC in Washington for the Conservatives Concerned about the Death Penalty.
