Robin Abbott is an attorney in private practice in Austin, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and her J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her legal career as a staff attorney with the Texas State Auditor’s Office before moving to the Texas Department of Economic Development, where she served as the General Counsel for over six years. In 2003, when the agency was reformed as the Economic Development and Tourism Division in the Office of the Governor, she transitioned to the Office of Governor Rick Perry as an Assistant General Counsel.
Robin later worked for five years as a Vice President and Senior Corporate Counsel for Affiliated Computer Services, which was acquired by Xerox. There she served as legal counsel for major state government healthcare transactions across the U.S., including serving as general counsel to the Texas Medicaid contract – at the time Xerox’s largest government account. In 2011, she returned to state government and managed the IT cooperative purchasing program at the Texas Department of Information Resources. She currently works as a transactional, procurement and legislative attorney and consultant.
